Beast of the Week: The Bandersnatch

The Bandersnatch is a beast shown in the 2010 movie, Alice in Wonderland. This is one creature that I forgot existed; however, it is still one that intrigues and unnerves me now as much as it did when I was a kid. She is a big white furred creature with a very wide build, a long tail, a wide mouth, a flat face, and is said to be intelligent. Her fur also sports small black spots across its back. This beast is massive and fast and has venomous claws accompanying the rows of teeth. Not much in Wonderland can combat this venom, however the Bandersnatch’s own saliva will nullify the venom’s effects, that is if this mighty beast decides to spare your life. The Bandersnatch is a formidable and deadly weapon, with many benefits, although the most horrifying aspect of this creature must be that it can extend its neck, allowing it to reach its prey even if they are slightly out of range. When she was first shown, the Bandersnatch was under the Red Queen’s control until it eventually saved Alice and joined the girls’ fight. Despite her disturbing appearance, she is a very loyal beast to have on one’s side and is very capable of taking on an army on her own, with her numerous ways to kill, not including her enormous size.
